Terms and conditions of participation – National campaign 2023

These General Terms and Conditions (the “Agreement”) govern the participation in the lottery campaign (the “Lottery”). By participating in the Lottery, you (the “Participant” or “your”) agree to be bound by the Agreement. If you do not agree with any part of the Agreement, do not participate in the Lottery.

1. This Lottery and the prizes have been validated and approved by the Gambling Regulatory Authority.

2. The Lottery promotion is valid at all Engen Service stations.

3. Entry mechanism: For every Rs. 500 spent in any Engen service stations (Unleaded petrol or Diesel, Café 365, Quickshop, lubricants), customers will get an entry lottery via an SMS.

4. Your following identification details are required: Name, Surname, mobile number, and email address. Users can also produce their National Identity Card to Engen Petroleum (Mauritius) Limited (the “Company”). Upon participation, Participants acknowledge to have provided their consent that the Company collects, stores, and processes their Personal Data.

5. By participating in the lottery campaign, customers also automatically participate in the Engen Club. Link Terms and Conditions Engen Club.

6. Customers must ensure that their identification details are correctly keyed in before validation on terminals.

7. This offer is valid from 00h01 on 2nd October until 00h00 23rd December 2023.

The draws will be held each month at the Mauritius Turf Club, under the supervision of the Gambling Regulatory Authority on the following dates:

  • 1st Draw: 19.10.2023
  • 2nd Draw: 03.11.2023
  • 3rd Draw: 16.11.2023
  • 4th Draw: 30.11.2023
  • 5th Draw: 28.12.2023


9. The list of the winning entry lottery number will appear on our Facebook Page, in the newspaper and on our website.

10. To enter the lottery, you must be a resident in Mauritius and aged 18 (eighteen) or above and have a valid phone number starting with ‘5’. Engen Petroleum (Mauritius) Limited staff, Engen Service Stations dealers and staff as well as customers using vouchers for purchases will not be eligible to participate into this lottery.

11. The winning results will be published on Facebook, in the local newspaper and on www.engenmauritius.com.

12. In case you do not receive your entry lottery via SMS please report it on the spot at the service station.

13. The prizes will be remitted to the winner at Engen Petroleum (Mauritius) Limited Head Office upon presentation of his / her identity card and proof of ownership of the phone number.

14. Prizes are non-negotiable and must be claimed within 6 months of the draw date. After this period, no claim will be taken into consideration.

15. By signing to the lottery system, the participants accept communications from Engen Mauritius.

16. Privacy Policy

16.1 Engen collects, stores, and uses personal data of registered participant. Your personal data may also be kept even after the campaign ends and if you are also a Member of the Engen App.

16.2 For the purposes of the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017 (the “DPA”) and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (the “GDPR”), by participating in the Lottery, the Participant consents that the Company collects, procures, retains and process personal data, including specified categories of personal data, of which it is the subject, in relation to this Agreement in Mauritius and to such other relevant jurisdiction as may be required for the purposes of the Agreement and to transfer or disclose same to the designated agents, nominees, trustees, or préposés of the Company to whom such personal data must be transferred/disclosed, whether inside or outside of Mauritius and to such other relevant jurisdiction as may be required for the purposes of the Agreement or generally of the European Economic Area in connection with the performance of this Agreement, or for meeting their respective legal, regulatory, reporting and/or financial obligations towards governmental, regulatory and taxation authorities as applicable.

16.3 In cases of transfer of personal data outside of Mauritius and to such other relevant jurisdiction as may be required for the purposes of the Agreement:

16.4 The Participant consents to the Company that the processing, including the transfer itself, of the personal data by it has been and, up to the moment of the transfer, will continue to be carried out in accordance with all the relevant provisions of the DPA and GDPR (and where applicable has been notified to the relevant authorities); and

16.5 The Company shall ensure (except in relation to countries where the disclosing party conducts or intends to conduct business, or as otherwise agreed by the Company and the User) that the country to which personal data is transferred provides adequate protection for the processing of such personal data.

17.3 By participating in the lottery campaign, you indicate your acceptance of the Agreement. Please ensure that you review this Agreement periodically for any updates.
